Telephone Service
Local telephone service is provided by BellSouth, Excel/Vertec Telecom.   Major and regional long distance carriers, as well as several cellular communications services, are also available.

Natural Gas Service
Natural gas service is distributed in Moss Bluff by the City of Westlake Gas Co., a natural gas public utility company. Gas rates are regulated by the LMGA. Minimum deposit for renters is $160.50, owners is $85.50, with commercial being $160.50.

Electric Power
Entergy Corporation is Louisiana's largest power supplier with operating companies Gulf States Utilities (GSU), Louisiana Power & Light (LP&L) and New Orleans Public Service Inc. (NOPSI) providing electric energy to 1.1 million customers. Serving a majority of the Southwest Louisiana area, Entergy's system utilizes a vast interconnected transmission and distribution network of more than 10,000 miles of lines and a balanced system fossil fuel and nuclear generating plants. Its transmission grid consists of a backbone 500kv system with an underlying network of 230kv, 138kv, 115kv, and 69kv lines across south Louisiana.  For additional information contact the Entergy Corporation-Economic Development Group at 800-542-2668

Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. also serves part of the Southwest Louisiana area. It serves the electric energy needs of more than 30,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in a 7-parish area of southwest Louisiana. With over 5,000 miles of line, BECi covers an area from Leesville and Fort Polk, southward beyond Interstate 10, and from the state line and Sabine River eastward to Evangeline Parish. BECi buys all of its power from Louisiana Generating, LLC, under a long term contract. Over 85% of this power comes from coal units located in New Roads, LA. Water Service
Moss Bluff is served by the Water Works District 1. Present design capacity under normal operations is 2 million gallons per day. The present normal demand averages 5,800 gm/account. Normal supply is treated and chlorinated to remove dissolved iron and to assure a high health standard. Total hardness is less than 68 ppm (calcium carbonate basis) and iron content is less .02 part per million. The water is available at 60 pounds per square inch and at 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The minimum deposit for renters is $75 with a $15 service charge, deposit for property owners is $10 with a $15 service charge. For commercial the minimum deposit is $50 with a $15 service charge.
